For his 26th album, Jacques Yvart has chosen Esperanto, once again. This is not his first attempt with the international language, however, "Yvart kantas Brassens" (VKKD19) was released in 1998, almost ten years ago !
Through a remarkable selection of songs, Jacques develops one of his favorite themes, 'traveling'. Featuring songs by Leonard Cohen (Bird on a wire), Johnny Cash (Fields of diamonds), Georges Moustaki (Ma liberté), Georges Brassens (Le petit cheval), as well as Jacques own compositions selected among his finest (Dans la vallée des Roses, Ohé, ohé du Bateau !, Magellans de l'Univers, etc ...) and some poems he has set to music "L'invitation au voyage" by Charles Baudelaire, being the title of the album.
The adapters, Rikardo Cash, Roel Haveman, Marcel Redoulez and Ĵak le Puil, have made a remarkable job here, sometimes close to a literal translation, which in terms of song lyrics is rare.
Not to forget the team of musicians, led by Olivier Gérardin, that gives each song its fair tone for an acoustic atmosphere refined by Triboulet in our "La Trappe" studio.
In addition to the 14 standard audio titles, this multi media CD contains an extra MP3 bonus "Le temps des cerises" and instrumental 'sing along' versions of the entire album along with a video of the studio sessions.
