More protest songs, love songs, and funny songs, ten years after Mi estas, here is Jacques Le Puil’s second CD in Esperanto.
Jacques, known in the Esperanto world as “Ĵak”, recorded his first album on cassette, Danĝera ul’ (A dangerous guy) in 1977, and three others followed: Revenas mi (I’m coming home) in 1980; De Pont-Aven al Varsov’ (From Pont-Aven to Warsaw) in 1985; and Ne donu tro (Don’t give too much) in 1993. This means more than 37 years of presence that Jacques dedicates to this new album.
In this second album you will find nine orginal titles composed by Jacques, from texts by Christian Sedant, Evgenij Mikhalskij, Jean-Pierre Danvy, Stefan Maul, Marjorie Boulton, Mazda, Georges Lagrange, and himself. There are also three “traditional” pieces: “Ho belulin’) (Bela ciao) translated by Renato Corsetti; “La kavaliroj de l’ ronda tablo” (Knights of the Round Table), translated by Michel Duc Goninaz; and “La edzino de la kolportisto” (The peddler’s wife) translated by Jean-Pierre Danvy. There remain two songs translated from French: “Klifo kaj maro” (Cliff and sea) by Ghislain Schreurs, translated by Georges Lagrange; and “Revenas mi” (I’m coming home) by Jean-Pierre Ferland, translated by Jean-Pierre Danvy.
