After a long period deprived of any new rock'n'roll productions, it being Dolchamar finally breaking the silence comes as quite a surprise. Dolcxamar, formerly spelled with CX (vkkd27), sailed on a slightly extraterrestrial soundscape, hesitating between a breed of techno and more familiar rhythms. Today it's a brand new Dolchamar, with CH in place of the CX, but also new musicians and a completely new musical direction, quite different from what they had accustomed us to.
Although echoes of the ancient band can still be heard, it has become resolutely rock, firmly structured and perhaps more serious about the lyrics and musical implication. The guideline of the album is that "All is possible when united", and the well controlled voice of Patrik, leader, singer and author of the songs, tells us so through a poeticaly streaming Esperanto.
It seems the group has become rather popular in Finland according to the many interviews and public appearances they give, and this, mostly outside the traditional Esperanto circles, thus, boosting the language a little closer to the general public.
This artistic mutation and choosing the beginning of a new year to let us in, symbolically forecasts the recognition of a group of old warriors. Dolchamar has shown its devotion to Esperanto and the notions that inspired it, and although having gained in professionalism, their commitment has remained intact, and the sounds are still just as beautiful and rebellious.
So, buy it .. or never sleep again !!
