Jacques Yvart – Dunkerque (Flanders / France)

Loving traveling as much as singing, Jacques Yvart has performed around the world more often than in France.
His album Citoyen du Monde (world citizen) is a true profession of faith.
Native of Dunkerque in northern France, Jacques Yvart is proud of his seafaring and fishermen ancestors, and his repertory is impregnated with them.
But if he sings about the sea, he nevertheless does not forget about the other subjects dear to him: peace, love, and brotherhood.
He is a faithful disciple of Georges Brassens, who invited him to open his concerts in the concert hall Bobino in 1972 and 1974. He has an innate sense of songs with a sure taste in the words and melody.
Author of an impressive discography (28 albums so far), he has not only traditional songs in his repertory, but also poems he has put to music, as well as more personal songs.

Founder of the Esperanto club in Dunkerque, Jacques has never ceased promoting the international language in his recordings :
